The History of Bush MS Choir
The Bush Choir department has grown immensely since its inaugural year. With an average membership of 280 students, the Bush Choral program has become one of the largest middle school choir in San Antonio and the surrounding area. In just eighteen years, the Bush Choir Department has earned 61 UIL sweepstakes and numerous "Best in Class" and "Best in Show" awards at contests throughout Texas.
For eighteen consecutive years, this organization has had the most students chosen to participate in the Region 12 Honor Choir. The Mixed Choir had the privilege of performing for Mrs. Barbara Bush and President George W. Bush at the school's dedication ceremony.
Additionally, the Bush Treble Choir was one of three middle school choirs in Texas which was selected to perform at the 2005 Texas Music Educator's Convention. More recently, the 7/8th grade Men's Choir, formally known as The Gentlemen of Bush, were selected as one of two men's choir in the state to perform at the 2015 TMEA Convention.
